About the speaker

Dr. Sumita Kale is a financial and macro-economist, CEO and senior fellow at Indicus Foundation. She has an M.Phil from the University of Cambridge and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Pune. Her work spans financial inclusion and development economics, currently at the intersection of climate risk and financial resilience. As co-founder of the Deccan Gymkhana Parisar Samiti, she has been one of Pune’s active voices on civic and governance issues, and has been deeply involved with the Vetal Tekdi Bachav Kruti Samiti to protect the city’s largest urban forest.
