The community

What you get by joining

• First go at tickets. Talks are announced here before anywhere else, with a head start on registration.
• Related Events. A group where members post other in-person events in Pune worth going to: lectures, walks, performances, exhibitions.
• General. A group for discussion about any area of knowledge: science, technology, arts, humanities.

Joining the community puts you on the announcements list only. The two groups are optional; ask to join either from inside the community. An organizer approves each request, which can take a day or two. We moderate because of spammers, and we may message you first if we cannot tell that you are in Pune.

Guidelines

• Write it yourself. No forwards.
• Events go in Related Events, and only in-person events in Pune. No webinars, no events elsewhere.
• No politics, no religion. Policy, yes. Politicians, no. Science against pseudoscience, yes, but without attacking anyone’s religion. Organizers will close a thread that turns partisan.
• Be decent. No personal attacks, nothing that makes others feel unwelcome.
• If you see something off, tell an organizer. If you are not sure whether a post belongs, ask one.
• Too noisy? Leave the groups and stay in the community. You will still get the announcements.
